Jesolo and Venice
Jesolo e Venezia
Jesolo attracts millions of tourists from all over Europe every year. The main reason for this choice is certainly linked to its large beach, safe for everyone, and the many entertainment options it offers for young people, but there is also another element: its proximity to Venice. Reaching the city of lovers, as Venice is known throughout the world, is very simple from Jesolo.
If you spend a holiday in the entertainment capital of Northern Italy, dedicating a day to discovering, even if fleeting, Venice is almost a must, especially if you have never been there.
Reaching Venice from Jesolo
Jesolo is only 40 kilometers from Venice. The two cities overlook the same marsh. Reaching Venice from Jesolo is very simple, because from Punta Sabbioni, south of Jesolo, you can take the motorboat that allows you to get to Venice in a few minutes. The lagoon, therefore, is not an obstacle between the two cities, but a connecting route. Both buses and cars can board the motorboat. You can therefore choose whether to go to Venice with your own car or motorbike or by public transport.
In any case, Venice is a city to be discovered by walking, also because cars, except those of residents, are not allowed in much of the city. For a day trip, it is advisable to rely on public transport, finding out in advance the departure and return times, to avoid being stuck at your destination. Once you have landed in Venice, all that remains is to start walking through its streets and on its bridges, discovering the palaces, squares and canals that have made this city famous throughout the world.
What to see in Venice in a few hours
A day trip to Venice certainly does not allow you to visit the city as you should, but it is still an unforgettable experience. Starting to walk through the calli, or alleys, of the city you can discover suggestive and hidden corners or be amazed by the main and most famous attractions.
The Rialto Bridge, with its elegant arches, is certainly one of the major tourist destinations, but also the Bridge of Sighs is worth a visit, if only to exchange a promise of love with your partner.
The Grand Canal is always very suggestive, at any time of the day, for the reflection that it offers of the buildings that overlook it. To better savor the magic of Venice you have to explore its canals. The first image that comes to mind, in this context, is the gondola. Tours on these historic boats, however, are very expensive and not accessible to all budgets, but you can opt for a cheaper boat tour to enjoy the view of Venice and its canals.
Finally, you can't miss a visit, even a quick one, to Piazza San Marco and its basilica, the symbolic places of this city but also of our peninsula.
A holiday in Jesolo offers the opportunity to dedicate a few hours of your time to discovering the magical and romantic Venice. A trip of a few hours or a whole day to carry an important piece of Italian art and culture in your heart forever.
